Considered from the start
Useful coverage starts with the right questions.
What do you need to see, when do you need to see it, and how will you use the recordings? We survey the property before specifying cameras, recording and connections, so the system supports the way you use the space.
- Wired and wireless options assessed for your site
- Cameras, digital recorders and IP recording systems
- Installation, upgrades and ongoing maintenance
Find your fit
A camera for the job.
Compare the main options. We will recommend the mix, positions and recording setup after a survey.
Every property is different. A site survey helps establish which option is suitable.

Get advice for your property01Recording & storageMake the footage useful when you need it.
Our range includes digital recorders and network video recorders for IP systems. The recording method and drive capacity are selected around the camera system and intended use.
Discuss the areas you need to review, image detail and recording requirements during the survey. Availability of remote viewing and other functions depends on the selected equipment.
02Installation & ongoing supportA system you can keep using.
Aegis surveys, designs and installs CCTV for domestic and commercial properties across East and South East England. We also help with system upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
If you already have CCTV, tell us its age, any make or model details and what you would like to improve. This gives the team a useful starting point before assessing the installation.
03Specialist camera optionsFor a more specific brief.
The existing Aegis product range also includes covert cameras. A specialist use should be discussed with the team so the purpose, placement and suitability can be reviewed before a recommendation.
04Legacy Hikvision camera referencesHelp with an older installed system.
On supported Hikvision TVI 3 cameras, the infrared option appears in the camera OSD day/night menu. Menu names and behaviour depend on the exact model and firmware; ask the team before changing an established setup.
The legacy F-series guide quotes approximate fields of view of 80° for a 2.8 mm lens and 60° for a 3.6 mm lens on Hikvision 3MP TVI 3.0 F-series cameras. These are legacy model references, not a specification for current cameras. Confirm the exact product when planning an upgrade.

Have something specific in mind?
Talk it through on 01206 323900.
Will the cameras work at night?
The range includes external cameras with built-in infrared illumination. Infrared-equipped models can switch from colour in daylight to black and white when night vision is active. We will explain the low-light performance of the equipment selected for your property.
Should I choose wired or wireless CCTV?
Both are available. The right choice depends on the property, cable routes, power and connection requirements. A survey helps establish the most practical solution.
Can you upgrade an existing CCTV system?
Yes. We can assess your current equipment and identify what needs to change to achieve the coverage or recording improvements you want. Compatibility is checked before the specification is agreed.
Can CCTV work with gates or access control?
Yes, integration can be considered as part of the design. ANPR cameras are one option for linking vehicle recognition with access arrangements.
How many cameras do I need?
There is no single number for every property. We start with the areas you need to see and the detail required, then design the coverage and recording system around that brief.
