Access control · East & South East England
The right people. The right access.
Make everyday entry easier while controlling who can go where and when. From a single door to a multi-door system, build access around your organisation.

Considered from the start
Make access work the way your building does.
A front entrance, a restricted room and a busy workplace have different needs. We supply, install and maintain entry systems that bring the right doors, controls and permissions together.
- Audio and video door entry
- Keypads, proximity readers and biometric options
- Standalone and centrally managed multi-door systems
Find your fit
Choose how access is managed.
Start with the way people use the building. The final specification brings the controls and door hardware together.
Every property is different. A site survey helps establish which option is suitable.
Know who is at the doorVisitor entry
Audio and video entry systems help people inside manage visitors at an entrance. Choose the arrangement that suits the building and its users.
- Best suited to
- Front doors and entrances where visitors need to request access.
- Worth considering
- The entrance layout and how calls should be handled determine the setup.
- Audio entry phones
- Video entry options
- Compatible door hardware
Straightforward controlIndividual doors
A standalone arrangement can control access at a door using a suitable keypad, reader and locking hardware.
- Best suited to
- A door or restricted area needing a focused access solution.
- Worth considering
- Door construction, use and the required access method all need to be reviewed.
- Keypad and proximity options
- Biometrics where appropriate
- Electric and magnetic locking options
One managed systemMultiple doors
Online systems allow authorised administrators to manage users, doors and access schedules from a central interface.
- Best suited to
- Workplaces with several doors or changing access permissions.
- Worth considering
- User groups, schedules and required integrations shape the system design.
- Multiple access levels and time zones
- PC-managed online systems
- Optional reporting and integration

Get advice for your property01Permissions, schedules & reportingGive people the access they need.
Depending on the selected system, options include access levels, time zones, free-access doors, anti-passback, roll call, time and attendance, and graphical interfaces.
These are system-dependent features. We help identify which functions are useful to your organisation before including them in the specification.
02Door hardware & integrationThe details that make the system work.
The range includes electric and magnetic locks, solenoid bolts and electric strikes, alongside the readers and controllers that manage them.
Fire and intruder system integration can be reviewed as part of the design. The suitability and operating requirements of the doors and connected systems must be assessed together.
03Lost cards & changing staffKeep permissions up to date.
On a centrally managed system, an administrator can disable a lost, stolen or broken card through the management software. The credential then stops providing access unless it is reactivated.
The available event records and alerts depend on the chosen system. Handover should include the procedures your administrators need for everyday management.
04Upgrade or maintain an existing systemRetain what is useful.
Aegis can assess existing access control equipment, maintain suitable systems and advise on upgrades. New technology is considered where it helps meet the requirements.
Share the current system details, number of doors and any issues you want to resolve when contacting the team.
A little clarity
Your questions,
answered.
Have something specific in mind?
Talk it through on 01206 323900.
What is access control?
It is a way of permitting entry to authorised people and restricting unauthorised access. Credentials may include a card, fob, code or another method supported by the chosen system.
What happens if a card or fob is lost?
On a managed system, an administrator can disable the credential in the software. The exact process and available alerts depend on the installed system.
Can different people have different access?
Yes, suitable systems support access levels and time schedules. We can help plan which users should have access to which doors and when.
Can it work with fire alarms or gates?
Integration may be possible and is reviewed during design. Compatibility and the operating requirements of the connected equipment determine the approach.
Can you take over an existing system?
We can assess the equipment and condition, then confirm the maintenance and upgrade options. Share any system make, software and door details you have.
